The SNP Trade Union
Group aims to campaign within the Scottish National Party to promote trade
union issues and to play a constructive role in shaping Party policy.
The group
also aims to campaign throughout the trade union movement for Independence
and in support of the Scottish National Party.
The SNP Trade Union Group believes that trade unions have a fundamental
role to play in restoring and defending workers' rights.
The group is an
affiliated organisation within
the Scottish National Party, has voting entitlement
at the
Party's Annual Conference and National
Council meetings.
The group has a
seat on the SNP National Executive Committee.
Group members are
activists in a wide range
of trade unions including UNISON, EIS, TGWU,
GMB, AMICUS
and UCATT.
